In January two new trees were planted alongside Commercial Road to replace the old tree stumps.
The trees are Platanus orientalis – or Old World sycamore. These will be large, deciduous trees of the Platanaceae family, growing to 30m or more. The species are known for their longevity and spreading crown. And their deep green leaves turn to blood red, amber, and yellow in the Autumn.
