Bristol City Council are planning to start maintenance work on Bathurst Bridge on 1st September 2020, and they initially approved a compound area on Bathurst Parade (in red in our image). A number of residents objected to the positioning of a compound area in a manner that severely restricted access to their houses.
Jack Friend (Council Professional and Technical Officer) took note of residents’ concerns. He informs us that ‘the site compound which was previously proposed on Bathurst Parade has been moved to the south of Bathurst Basin Bridge. It will now be located in the car park area of Lower Guinea Street Car Park adjacent to John Sebastian Quay.’
